%20the%20odds%20are%20that%20it%20will%20be%20edible%20when%20it's%20done.%20Good?%20not%20necessarily.%20But%20edible,%20probably%20:).%20Once%20I%20realized%20that%20then%20it%20was%20much%20easier%20for%20me%20to%20create%20recipes%20and%20play%20with%20old%20ones%20to%20change%20them%20on%20a%20whim!%20It's%20still%20peach%20season,%20at%20least%20for%20a%20few%20more%20weeks,%20and%20this%20little%20crisp%20is%20a%20perfect%20way%20to%20take%20advantage%20of%20those%20sweet%20little%20fruits.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20used%20to%20live%20near%20several%20orchards%20and%20loved%20to%20go%20fruit%20picking.%20One%20of%20the%20orchards%20almost%20across%20the%20street%20from%20my%20house%20was%20an%20apple%20orchard%20and%20they%20made%20homemade%20apple%20butter%20every%20year.%20I%20miss%20that%20apple%20butter%20a%20lot%20because%20it%20was%20so%20good.%20Another%20orchard%20that%20was%20further%20away%20but%20worth%20the%20drive%20(all%2020%20minutes)%20offered%20peaches,%20apples,%20nectarines,%20and%20pumpkins.%20Fruit%20that's%20been%20freshly%20picked%20off%20the%20tree%20would%20be%20so%20juicy,%20sweet,%20and%20perfect%20for%20any%20dessert%20in%20my%20book.%20If%20you%20have%20an%20orchard%20within%20a%20reasonable%20driving%20distance%20you%20should%20go%20soon%20before%20the%20season%20is%20over%20(early%20September%20for%20peaches%20in%20most%20places).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPeach%20Crisp%20for%201%20(or%202)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDirections:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1.%20Preheat%20oven%20to%20350F.%20Slice%20peaches%20into%20%C2%BD%E2%80%9D%20thick%20pieces%20and%20place%20in%20a%20bowl.%20Toss%20the%20peaches%20gently%20with%20the%20honey,%20maple%20syrup,%20cinnamon,%20and%20ginger.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.%20Pour%20the%20peaches%20into%20a%20small,%20seasoned%20cast%20iron%20pan,%20or%20a%20small%20baking%20dish.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3.%20In%20a%20small%20bowl%20combine%20the%20flour%20and%20oatmeal,%20cut%20in%20the%20butter%20until%20the%20mixture%20is%20in%20pea%20sized%20crumbles.%20Sprinkle%20the%20topping%20over%20the%20peaches%20being%20careful%20not%20to%20push%20it%20down,%20just%20sprinkle%20it%20evenly.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4.%20Bake%20the%20crisp%20for%2028-32%20minutes%20or%20until%20the%20sauce%20is%20bubbly%20and%20thickened%20and%20the%20topping%20is%20lightly%20browned.%20If%20desired,%20place%20under%20a%20broiler%20for%202-4%20minutes%20or%20until%20the%20top%20is%20dark%20golden%20brown%20and%20crispy.%20Serve%20warm.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDon't%20forget%20to%20follow%20me%20on%20Blog%20Lovin'%20or%20using%20one%20of%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethe%20buttons%20at%20the%20top%20of%20the%20page%20so%20you%20don't%20miss%20a%20recipe!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
