Mashed Potatoes

Perfect mashed potatoes are easy to achieve with this fool-proof recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. potatoes (about 6 medium)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 tbsp. margarine or butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Peel potatoes and cut into chunks.
  2. Put potatoes in a medium pan with enough water to cover; cook on medium heat for 15 minutes or until tender.
  3. Remove from heat and drain water.
  4. Add butter and mash potatoes with a fork or a potato masher. Stir in a small amount of milk at a time until the desired consistency is achieved. An electric mixer can be used to whip potatoes if desired.
