  • 1 pound grnd beef
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1 med. onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 c. green pepper, minced
  • 3/4 c. uncooked long grain rice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 c. catsup
  • 1 (1 pound) can tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 2 drops warm pepper sauce

Directions

  1. In large frying pan, brown beef. Drain off fat, remove meat and set aside. In same frying pan, cook bacon till crisp. Remove bacon, crumble and set aside. Saute onion and green pepper in 2 tbsp bacon drippings. Stir in beef, bacon and remaining ingredients. Bring to boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer for 30 to 40 min or possibly till rice is tender. 5 servings.
