Ingredients

  • 1 recipe of this pie crust, or you can use store bought crust
  • 1 1/4 cup sugar
  • 5 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 6 large egg yolks
  • 2/3 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons lemon zest
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Limoncello lemon liqueur
  • 2 tablespoons butter, cold, cut into pieces\
  • For the Meringue:
  • 6 large egg whites, at room temperature
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 6 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • pinch of salt
