Ingredients

  • 1 stk butter or possibly margarine
  • 1/2 c. Shortening
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 2 c. Flour
  • 2 c. Sugar
  • 5 x Egg yolks
  • 1 c. Buttermilk
  • 2 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 sm Cn coconut
  • 1 c. Minced pecans
  • 5 x Egg whites, beaten
  • 1 x 8-ounce pk cream cheese
  • 1 box powdered sugar
  • 1/2 stk butter or possibly margarine
  • 1 tsp Vanilla

Directions

  1. Cream shortening & butter, add in sugar & egg yolks. Beat well. Combine dry ingredients, add in to mix with butter & flour. Add in coconut & 3/4 c pecans. Mix in egg whites & mix. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
  2. Frosting:Cream together & add in the remaining pecans.
