Let me tell y'all, it's not easy taking a picture of ice cream in Texas in July. It's a good thing I got this picture on the first shot because it looked like milk by the last picture. My favorite ice cream is Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey and once again I had bananas that were going to go bad. So I thought I'd try to recreate it without Ben, Jerry or the tons of calories. I really, really need to stop buying bananas because now I have a kitchen full of banana nut muffins (coming later) and a freezer full of Chunky Monkey.
Combine sugar, milk, cream, vanilla, banana and salt in blender and blend until smooth. Pour into ice cream freezer and churn for 30 minutes. Pour in walnuts and chocolate chips and churn for another 5 minutes. Serve immediately or freeze to desired consistency.
