Homemade Chocolate Syrup

Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. cocoa
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • Dash salt
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

  1. Put together cocoa, sugar and salt in a medium saucepan; gradually stir in water till mix is smooth. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly; continue to cook and stir 3 min. Remove from heat; add in vanilla. Pour into container. Cool. Cover and chill. Use 1 to 2 tbsp to 8 oz glass cold lowfat milk. Serve as topping for ice cream or/and desserts. Makes 2 cups syrup.
