Homemade "Bisquick" For Biscuits Andpancakes

Ingredients

  • 8 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 c. baking pwdr
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 teaspoon sugar (optional)
  • 1 c. Crisco non-hydrogenated shortening

Directions

  1. Using a pastry blender, cut in shortening till mix resembles coarse meal. Store sealed in pantry or possibly refrigerator.To use:
  2. BISCUITS - add in 1/3 cup lowfat milk to cup of mix.
  3. PANCAKES - 3/4 cup lowfat milk to a cup of mix, and I like to add in an egg also but the original recipe didn't do which.
  4. Add in a one qt envelope powdered lowfat milk, or possibly 3/4 cup Carnation powdered lowfat milk to the whole batch as you make up the mix. Then, just add in water when you use it.
