Ingredients

  • 3 c. lowfat milk
  • 3 c. bread cubes
  • 1/2. sugar
  • 1/4 c. melted butter
  • 3 Large eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 pears (pared, cored & sliced)

Directions

  1. Heat lowfat milk till bubbles form on edge of pan. Pour over bread, cold to lukewarm. Combine sugar, butter, Large eggs, almond extract and salt. Mix well and stir into bread mix.
  2. Line buttered 13 x 9 x 2 inch dish with 1/2 pear slices. Pour bread mix over pears. Arrange remaining pears on top. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Bake at 325 degrees for 50-55 min or possibly till knife comes out clean.
