Ingredients

  • 2/3 c. dry apricots
  • 1/2 c. soft butter
  • 1/4 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 1/3 c. flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 c. packed brown sugar
  • 2 Large eggs, well beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 c. minced nuts
  • Confectioners' sugar

Directions

  1. Cover apricots with water, boil 10 min. Drain; cold; chop. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan. Mix butter, granulated sugar and 1 c. flour till crumbly. Pack into pan. Bake 25 min. Sift 1/3 c. flour, baking pwdr, salt. Gradually beat brown sugar into Large eggs; fold in flour mix. Then vanilla, nuts and apricots. Spread over baked layer. Bake 30 min or possibly till done. Cold. Cut into 32 bars. Roll in confectioners' sugar.
