Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. golden brown syrup or possibly
  • 1 c. treacle
  • 1 Tbsp. ginger
  • 1 pch salt
  • 1 tsp bicarb soda
  • 1 Tbsp. lowfat milk
  • 2 c. flour

Directions

  1. Heat together the butter, sugar, and golden brown syrup, stirring well.
  2. Dissolve the bicarb, salt and ginger in the lowfat milk and add in to the mix.
  3. Add in enouhg flour to create a stiff dough.
  4. Scale the dough into walnut-sized balls, flatten onto a baking tray and bake in at 325 F for 25 min.
