Fig Pinwheels

Great dessert any time! they never last long in my household.

Goes Well With: Cold Milk, Coffee, Tea

Ingredients

  • One sheet pastry dough (thawed)
  • 6 Whole Figs, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • a few dashes of nutmeg and cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Directions

  1. Pre Heat Oven 375 F
  2. Roll out pastry dough thin and place on a parchment lined baking sheet pan and bake for 4-5 minutes (keep it pliable)
  3. In a sauce pan add butter, fig slices, cinnamon, nutmeg, honey and cook 15 minutes or until fruit is tender, Place in a mixing bowl and stir well to a consistency to spread on top of pastry dough
  4. Roll pastry filled dough up and place back on baking sheet pan, bake additional 6 minutes or until golden brown
  5. Allow to cool before slicing
  6. Serve warm with a cold glass of Milk!
  7. Enjoy.
