Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup white granulated sugar
  • 4 tablespoons butter or margarine or 1/2 stick or 1/4 cup, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 2/3 cup buttermilk
  • Oil for frying (I use Canola and use a skillet. The oil should be about 1/2 inch deep in the pan or you could use a deep fryer, too)
  • Powdered sugar (can sprinkle on the donuts or roll them in the sugar)

I am looking for a dressing/stuffing recipe that my family LOVED, but I lost the recipe several years ago while moving. I had got the recipe from a newspaper article called Georgia on my Plate?? It was a stuffing recipe made with ritz crackers and was named Mama's Homemade Dressing. It told how to make Mama's muffin bread to make the stuffing with. The stuffing had LOTS of onions and Ritz crackers in addition to the muffin bread as ingredients. If anyone has this recipe and would be so kind as to share it with me, I would really appreciate it.
