Easy Chocolate Meringue Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. flour, lightly packed
  • 3 heaping tbsp. cocoa
  • 2 c. water
  • 3 Large eggs, separated
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • Dash of salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 (9") baked pastry shell

Directions

  1. Mix sugar, flour and cocoa together. Add in sufficient water to make a paste. Beat in Large eggs yolks well. Heat remaining water with butter and salt till butter is melted. Add in water mix to first mix and cook till thick, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add in vanilla. Cold and pour into baked pie crust. Cover with meringue and brown.
