Ingredients

  • 1 pound each lean round steak, pork & veal, grnd together
  • 6 slices Holland Rusk
  • 3 teaspoon salt
  • 3 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3 Large eggs
  • 1/3 c. half & half

Directions

  1. Crush Holland Rusk into crumbs. Add in salt and nutmeg. Mix into grnd meat. Add in Large eggs and half & half. Mix thoroughly with hands. Shape into balls.
  2. Heat 1 Tbsp. Crisco and 1/2 stick butter in large frying pan. Fry meatballs till brown on all sides. Transfer to Dutch oven or possibly roast pan with the shortening and butter. Simmer over very low flame for about 45 min. Right from Holland.
