Directions

  1. Mix together the dates, raisins, ginger, nuts, lemon peel, golden brown syrup and lemon juice. Set aside.
  2. Sift together the flour, sugar and salt. Rub in the butter, add in sufficient water to create a stiff dough.
  3. Roll dough out 1/4 inch thick, cut into 2. Place the fruit filling on one half of dough and cover with other half. Place on a lightly greased baking tray and bake at 350 oven 15 to 20 min.
  4. Allow to cold, then cut into squares.
