Ingredients

  • 125 gm Stoned dates, minced (4oz)
  • 50 gm Seedless raisins, (2 ounce)
  • 250 ml Boiling water, (8 fl ounce)
  • 1 1/2 tsp Chilli pwdr
  • 2 tsp Grnd cumin
  • 2 tsp Tamarind concentrate
  • 2 tsp Soft brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt or possibly to taste

Directions

  1. Soak the dates and raisins in warm water, cover and set aside for 30 min.
  2. Put all the ingredients in an electric blender and blend till smooth.
  3. Transfer to a serving dish.
  4. Note: This chutney will keep for 5-6 weeks in a moisture-free airtight jar in the fridge.
