Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup of Cornmeal
  • 1 1/4 cups of flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup of drippings (use the sausage drippings if you are making the beans and rice)
  • substitute vegetable oil and 1/2 teaspoon of salt if no drippings*
  • Honey-butter:
  • 2 tblsp softened butter
  • 2 tblsp of honey
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
