Ingredients

  • 1 lb Grnd beef
  • 3/4 c. Minced celery
  • 3 Tbsp. Instant chopped onion
  • 1 1/4 c. Water
  • 1/2 c. Uncooked converted rice
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 can Condensed chicken with rice soup
  • 1 can (4 ounce) slice mushrooms, liquid removed
  • 1 Tbsp. Packed brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. Soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Butter or possibly margerine

Directions

  1. Cook and stir grnd beef, celery and onion in skillet till beef is brown; drain. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  2. OVEN METHOD: Pour into greased 2 quart. casserole dish. Cook uncovered in 350 degree oven 30 min; stir. Cook till rice is tender and liquid is absorbed, about 30 min longer.
  3. RANGE TOP METHOD: Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, till rice is tender and liquid is absorbed, about 30 min.
