Ingredients
- 1 lb Grnd beef
- 3/4 c. Minced celery
- 3 Tbsp. Instant chopped onion
- 1 1/4 c. Water
- 1/2 c. Uncooked converted rice
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 can Condensed chicken with rice soup
- 1 can (4 ounce) slice mushrooms, liquid removed
- 1 Tbsp. Packed brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. Soy sauce
- 1 tsp Butter or possibly margerine
Directions
- Cook and stir grnd beef, celery and onion in skillet till beef is brown; drain. Stir in remaining ingredients.
- OVEN METHOD: Pour into greased 2 quart. casserole dish. Cook uncovered in 350 degree oven 30 min; stir. Cook till rice is tender and liquid is absorbed, about 30 min longer.
- RANGE TOP METHOD: Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, till rice is tender and liquid is absorbed, about 30 min.
