Chocolate Fudge Frosting Taste Of Home Version

Ingredients

  • 1 c. Granulated sugar
  • 4 Tbsp. Unsweetened cocoa
  • 3/4 c. Lowfat milk (whole lowfat milk is best)
  • 1 Tbsp. Butter or possibly margarine
  • 1 tsp Vanilla

Directions

  1. Combine sugar, cocoa and lowfat milk in small heavy saucepan; cook till mix begins to boil. Cover, cook for 2-3 min till steam washes sugar crystals down from sides of pan. Uncover, reduce heat and cook without stirring till mix reaches soft ball stage (234 degrees). Remove from heat. Cold mix till it reaches temperature of 110. Add in butter and vanilla, stirring till butter is dossolved. Pour over hot cake.
  2. Yieldenough to cover a 13x9 inch cake. Frosting not suitable for layer cake.
