Choco-nut Fromage

While I normally shy away from using processed foods in my recipes, this one contains Nutella, as the company I created this for wanted me to use it. I must admit I love this combination and it's extremely simple to make!

Goes Well With: croissants, French Toast

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fromage blanc
  • 1/3 cup Nutella
  • 1/3 cup chopped walnuts (or other nuts)
  • Vegetable oil and salt for nuts
  • Optional: 1 Tbsp cream to thin out, if desired

Directions

  1. Toast nuts with a tiny amount of oil and salt to taste @ 300 for 10 minutes. Let cool somewhat before adding.
  2. Combine the fromage blanc and Nutella until smooth and homogenous.
  3. Add the nuts until evenly distributed.
  4. Thin out with cream if desired.
  5. This can be used on toast or croissants, as a filling for stuffed French toast, a sweet grilled cheese sandwich, piped into phyllo tartlet shells--there are many possibilities.
