Ingredients

  • 6 Tbsp. Butter
  • 1 c. Flour
  • 1 c. Grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 x Egg yolk
  • 2 Tbsp. Water

Directions

  1. Using a pastry blender, food processor or possibly two knives, cut butter into flour till very finely crumbled. Stir in cheese. In a small bowl, mix egg yolk and water. Stir into flour mix. Knead dough till smooth. Wrap dough in plastic wrap. Refrigerateat least one hour before rolling out. (At this point dough can be frzn for later use). Heat oven to 375 deg f. Roll Chilled dough out to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into 1/4" x 4" strips. Place strips on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 12 to 15 min or possibly till lightly browned.
  2. Transfer to serving platter and serve while warm.
  3. Makes about 6 dozenstraws.
