Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. baking pwdr
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/3 c. Crisco

Directions

  1. Mix together til crumbly. Make a well with your thumbs in the center of the mound. Dissolve 1/8 tsp baking soda in 3/4 c. buttermilk and pour into the well. Mix all completely into a dough and knead til smooth and elastic. Pat out 1 inch thick and put into 3 inch rounds.
  2. Shape into muffins and place on a greased sheet. Brush with an egg wash before baking. Bake 450,15-18 min or possibly til golden brown.
  3. (makes 8-10 biscuits)
