Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb Boneless beef sirloin, trimmed of fat and cut into 1-inch long strips
  • 2 x Red bell peppers, one minced and one cut into 1/2-inch strips
  • 1 x Jalapeno pepper, seeded and
  • 2 x Cloves garlic, halved
  • 1/4 c. Dry white wine
  • 3/4 Tbsp. Chopped fresh ginger
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Grnd turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp Grnd cardamom
  • 2 x -(up to)
  • 3 dsh Warm sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. Butter or possibly margarine
  • 1 Tbsp. Oil
  • 1 med Onion, minced Warm cooked rice or possibly pita bread

Directions

  1. Place the minced red pepper, jalapeno, garlic, wine, ginger, salt, pepper, turmeric, cardamom, and Tabasco in a blender on medium-high speed till smoothly blended.
  2. Heat the butter or possibly margarine and the oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat till warm. Add in the beef and cook till most of the liquid has been rendered and meat is browned on all sides, about 3 to 4 min.
  3. Remove the beef and keep hot.
  4. Add in the onion and red pepper strips to the skillet and cook till wilted, about 3 min. Return the beef to the skillet and add in the blender mix. Heat to boiling, then reduce the heat and simmer uncovered till the beef is warm and the sauce is slightly thickened. Serve over rice or possibly stuffed into pitas, with rice on the side.
