  • 1 lb russet potatoes peeled, and cut into 4 to 5 pcs each
  • 1/3 lb beef thinly sliced
  • 2/3 lb yellow onions sliced 1/3" wide
  • 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 3 Tbsp. or possibly more soy sauce to taste
  • 3 Tbsp. or possibly more brown sugar to taste
  • 2 Tbsp. sake or possibly white wine

Directions

  1. Prepare vegetables as described above. Heat a deep pan and add in oil and beef. Saute/fry for a couple of min, then add in onion and potato. Continue sauteing for 3 min.
  2. Add in water, soy sauce, brown sugar, and sake or possibly wine. Bring to a simmer half covered. Skim off any foam and cook for about 20 to 30 min till potatoes are done.
  3. This recipe yields 4 servings.
