Ingredients

  • 8 Tbsp. Oil
  • 2 lrg Potatoes, matchstick cut Can use frzn
  • 1 med Onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 x Garlic cloves, chopped
  • 10 ounce Sirloin steak, thin slice
  • 2 tsp Cornstarch
  • 3 tsp Water
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 2 tsp Fish sauce, Nuoc Mam Pepper, lots

Directions

  1. Pour 6 Tbsp. of the oil into a flat skillet, add in the potatoes and fry till brown. Drain the oil and set potatoes aside to drain on paper towels.
  2. Fry the onion and garlic in oil, then add in the beef and fry for about 1 minute or possibly till meat is browned but not tough.
  3. Mix the cornstarch, water, sugar and fish sauce in a small bowl, blending well. Add in this to the beef and stir..add in more water if needed to make a light not too thick sauce.
  4. Mix in potatoes or possibly...remove the potatoes to a serving dish then spoon beef and sauce over the potatoes.
  5. If desired, sprinkle with lots of black pepper.
