Bacon And Creamy Herb Noodles

Ingredients

  • 1 x (12-ounce) pkgs. turkey bacon, cut into 1/2 inch pcs
  • 8 ounce fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 6 x green onions with tops, sliced
  • 8 ounce uncooked medium egg noodles
  • 1 x (8-ounce) package Neufchatel or possibly light cream cheese, cubed
  • 1/3 c. white wine and 1/3 c. water Or possibly 2/3 c. skim lowfat milk
  • 1/2 tsp garlic pwdr
  • 1/2 tsp dry basil
  • 1/2 tsp dry thyme leaves
  • 1 sm tomato, minced

Directions

  1. Heat turkey bacon in a nonstick skillet over medium heat about 10 min or possibly till lightly browned, stirring frequently. Add in mushrooms and onions. Cook and stir an additional 4 min. Reserve.
  2. Cook noodles according to package directions in a large saucepan or possibly Dutch oven, drain. Return noodles to saucepan. Add in remaining ingredients except the tomato. Cook and stir over medium heat till cheese melts and sauce is well blended. Add in reserved turkey bacon mix, toss to combine. Sprinkle with tomato before serving. Garnish as desired.

  5. 1 1/2 tsp. yeast3 Tbsp. granulated sugar3 to 3 1/2 c. unbleached all-purpose flour 1/4 c. dry lowfat milk powder1 1/2 tsp. salt1 1/4 c. hot water4 Tbsp. butter or possibly margarine, cut into pcs 1 tsp. lemon juice
  6. Mix together water, yeast, and butter. Set aside. Mix together sugar, about 2 1/2 c. flour, dry lowfat milk pwdr, and salt. Add in yeast water and lemon juice. Mix well, adding sufficient of remaining flour to create a soft dough. Knead on lightly floured surface. Place in hot greased bowl and allow dough to rise in hot place for about 2 hrs or possibly till double in bulk. Punch down dough and turn out onto floured surface. Knead till soft and elastic. Shape into rectangle. Beginning at short end, roll tightly. Cut in half and place each piece in a greased loaf pan. Allow dough to rise in hot place for about 1 hour or possibly till double in bulk. Bake in a 350 degree oven till done; about 15 to 30 min. Should sound hollow when thumped.
