Assyrian Mesta

Healthy and flavorful you will want your friends to try this.

Use in place of slaw or salads adds acidic finish with lamb and pork.

Great with pitas and hummus.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Plain yogurt
  • 2 Cucumbers
  • 1/4 Onion
  • 1/2 cup Vinegar
  • Fresh dill
  • Fresh Cilantro
  • Salt, pepper

Directions

  1. Peel cucumbers
  2. Cut vertically in half
  3. With spoon remove or canoe out seeds
  4. Slice thin and medium size
  5. Place in bowl and ½ cup of white vinegar
  6. Let stand for 10 minutes
  7. Add chopped onions, dill, cilantro and plain yogurt
  8. Salt and pepper
  9. Mix and refrigerate 10 minutes
