%20of%2084th%20annual%20Academy%20Awards%20from%20the%20grumpy%20perspective%20of%20someone%20who%20lives%20nearby.%20Closed%20streets,%20throngs%20of%20onlookers%20cruising%20the%20neighborhood%20looking%20for%20a%20place%20to%20park,%20and%20those%20damn%20news%20choppers%20who%20seem%20to%20think%20they%20might%20spot%20George%20Clooney%20clandestinely%20sneaking%20out%20my%20back%20door.%20Why%20else%20would%20they%20hover%20directly%20over%20my%20house.%20Do%20they%20need%20me%20to%20point%20out%20that%20the%20venue%20(formerly%20known%20as%20The%20Kodak%20Theatre)%20is%20down%20the%20hill%20and%20to%20the%20right?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWell%20that%20is%20just%20the%20price%20we%20pay%20living%20in%20the%20hills%20of%20this%20glamorous%20city%20on%20the%20most%20glamorous%20of%20days.%20The%20entertainment%20industry%20is%20a%20fact%20of%20life%20in%20Los%20Angeles%20and%20I%20don't%20really%20mean%20to%20whine%20about%20it.%20But%20really%20I%20am%20just%20a%20little%20embarassed.%20You%20see%20when%20George%20said%20he%20%22would%20love%20to%20eat%20such%20good%20pie%22%20I%20thought%20he%20said%20he%20%22would%20love%20to%20beat%20that%20French%20gadfly%22...%20so%20I%20asked%20him%20to%20leave%20and%20to%20use%20the%20back%20door.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPrepare%20the%20crust:%20In%20the%20bowl%20of%20a%20food%20processor%20pulse%20flour,%20confectioners%20sugar%20and%20salt%20until%20well%20combined%20and%20uniform%20in%20texture.%20Add%20the%20butter%20and%20egg%20yolk%20pulsing%20several%20more%20times%20until%20the%20mixture%20is%20crumbly%20and%20coarse.%20Form%20dough%20into%20a%203/4-inch%20disc,%20wrap%20it%20in%20plastic%20and%20chill%20at%20least%2030%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETransfer%20the%20chilled%20dough%20to%20a%20lightly%20floured%20work%20surface.%20Use%20a%20lightly%20floured%20rolling%20pin%20to%20roll%20the%20dough%20into%20about%20a%2012-inch%20round.%20Carefully%20transfer%20the%20dough%20to%20a%2010-inch%20tart%20pan%20with%20a%20removable%20bottom.%20Trim%20the%20edges%20neatly.%20Chill%20at%20least%2030%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20the%20meantime,%20place%20the%20oven%20rack%20in%20center%20position.%20Heat%20the%20oven%20to%20350%20degrees%20F.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELine%20chilled%20shell%20with%20parchment%20and%20fill%20with%20pie%20weights,%20raw%20rice,%20or%20dried%20beans.%20Bake%20on%20the%20middle%20rack%20until%20edge%20is%20pale%20golden,%20about%2020%20minutes.%20Carefully%20remove%20parchment%20and%20weights.%20Continue%20baking%20another%2010%20minutes.%20Remove%20from%20oven%20and%20allow%20to%20cool%20completely%20in%20the%20pan%20on%20a%20rack.%20Reduce%20oven%20temperature%20to%20300%20degrees%20F.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPrepare%20the%20filling:%20In%20a%20large%20bowl%20use%20a%20whisk%20to%20beat%206%20eggs%20until%20well%20incorporated%20and%20frothy.%20Add%20the%20cream,%20granulated%20sugar,%20lime%20zest,%20and%20lime%20juice.%20Whisk%20until%20just%20combined.%20Lay%20the%20tart%20shell%20onto%20a%20rimmed%20baking%20pan.%20Pour%20three-fourths%20of%20the%20filling%20mixture%20into%20shell.%20Carefully%20move%20the%20tart%20and%20the%20baking%20sheet%20to%20the%20middle%20rack%20of%20the%20oven.%20Pour%20remaining%20filling%20into%20shell.%20You%20might%20not%20use%20it%20all.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20tart%20until%20barley%20set%20and%20still%20wobbly%20in%20the%20center,%20about%2040%20mins.%20Remove%20from%20oven%20and%20allow%20the%20tart%20to%20cool%20completely%20in%20tart%20pan%20on%20rack,%20then%20chill,%20covered,%20until%20cold,%20at%20least%202%20hours.%20Bring%20back%20to%20room%20temperature%20to%20serve.%20Garnish%20with%20lime%20slices,%20optional.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdapted%20from%20Diane%20Morgan%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
