Ingredients

  • 1 cup Traditional Ale beer
  • 1 cup coarse ground cornmeal
  • 1/4 cup Canadian maple syrup
  • 1 cup white flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1tbsp baking powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup melted butter

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400
  2. Grease and preheat a 9 X 9 pan.
  3. Combine cornmeal, beer, and maple syrup in a bowl.
  4. Stir flour, salt and baking powder into another bowl.
  5. Add cornmeal mixture, eggs and melted butter.
  6. Stir until well mixed. Pour batter slowly into preheated pan.
  7. Bake 20 to 25 minutes.
  8. Cool for 10 minutes.
  9. You can use Honey Brown lager beer instead too.
