Wyatt Cafeteria's Egg Custard

Ingredients

  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 6 whole large eggs plus 2 egg yolks
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 3/4 c. whole lowfat milk

Directions

  1. Put together sugar, large eggs, vanilla, nutmeg and salt; blend well.2. Scald lowfat milk in a saucepan.
  2. Add in scalded lowfat milk to above mix and whip till well blended and a foam forms on top.
  3. Pour egg custard into glass baking dish or possibly custard cups set in pan of water.
  4. Bake at 450 degrees for 30-40 min, till center is set. Cool to room temperature. Chill. May add in bread strips, raisins and almonds for a delicious bread pudding.
