Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. Wesson oil
  • 4 Large eggs
  • 4 c. flour
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 2 teaspoon allspice
  • 2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 c. orange juice or possibly wine
  • 1 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 1/2 c. cherries, cut up
  • 1 c. mixed fruit
  • 1 c. pineapple
  • 1 c. preserves
  • 3 c. pecans

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 275 degrees. Put pan of water on lower rack. Line cake pan with greased brown paper. Mix sugar oil and Large eggs; sift in 2 c. flour, salt, baking pwdr and spices. Then add in juice. Mix remaining flour with fruit and nuts and beat well. Bake 2 1/2 to 3 hrs or possibly till done. Wrap in foil and put brandy or possibly wine on cake occasionally.
