Spinach and cheese puffs

Ingredients

  • Puff pastry sheet-1
  • Spinach-4 cups
  • Oil-1 tsp
  • Garlic-3 cloves(finely chopped)
  • Mozzarella cheese-3 tbsp
  • Egg-1
  • Water- 1 tbsp

Directions

  1. Take out the pastry sheet from the box and keep at room temperature for an hour
  2. Pre heat the oven to 400 degrees
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
  4. In a pan, add oil
  5. When the oil is hot add garlic
  6. When the garlic is browned, add spinach
  7. Cook till all the water is gone and spinach is cooked
  8. Be careful in this step
  9. Any remaining water in the spinach can turn the puffs soggy
  10. Cool
  11. Mix egg with water
  12. Brush the pastry sheet with egg wash
  13. Cover with spinach and sprinkle cheese all over
  14. Roll to make a log
  15. Cut 1\2 inch pieces and bake for 15 minutes till the pastry is browned
  16. Serve hot with ketchup
