Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Butter
  • 3 Tbsp. Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper
  • 3/4 c. Lowfat milk
  • 1/4 c. Salmon liquid
  • 1/4 c. Minced gherkins
  • 1 c. Flaked salmon
  • 2 Tbsp. Mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp. Lemon juice
  • 1 loaf sliced bread crusts removed
  •     Melted butter

Directions

  1. Heat butter, add in flour and seasoning; cook 2 min.
  2. Remove from heat, gradually add in combined lowfat milk and salmon liquid.
  3. Return to heat and stir constantly until mix boils and thickens.
  4. Add in remaining ingredients and mix through. Place warm filling into heated bread cases and serve.
  5. Bread Cases:1. Brush both sides of bread with melted butter.
  6. Press diagonal corners into deep base patty tins. Bake at 200 degrees F for approximately 10-15 min until crisp and golden brown.
