%20and%20would%20give%20you%20the%20shirt%20of%20his%20back%20and%20probably%20his%20pants,%20too!%20%20He%20is%20always%20busy%20fixing%20something%20and%20loves%20to%20play%20golf%20-%20although,%20if%20you%20saw%20his%20swing%20you%20would%20think%20he%20was%20a%20contortionist.%20%20He's%20always%20up%20for%20a%20run%20to%20the%20grocery%20store/Sams/Costco,%20or%20a%20drive%20to%20see%20the%20grandkids,%20and%20while%20he%20could%20host%20his%20own%20right-wing-republican%20talk%20show%20where%20he%20could%20talk%20in%20depth%20about%20history%20or%20religion%20or%20politics,%20I%20believe%20his%20real%20talent%20is%20visible%20when%20he%20talks%20baby%20talk%20to%20his%20dog,%20Sadie-Ann-Marie.%20%20Only%20a%20real%20man%20can%20pull%20that%20off!%20%20So%20happy%20birthday%20Dad,%20you're%20the%20best%20man%20I%20know!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMillion%20Dollar%20Potatoes...that's%20what%20the%20mister%20calls%20them,%20because%20they%20taste%20like%20a%20million%20bucks,%20but%20really,%20they%20should%20be%20called%20Million%20Calorie%20Potatoes%20because%20they%20are%20LOADED%20with%20calories...is%20that%20bad?%20%20I%20don't%20think%20so,%20let%20me%20remind%20you%20of%20what%20Julia%20Child%20said%20-%20which%20is%20my%20mantra:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOkay,%20this%20is%20not%20something%20you're%20going%20to%20make%20and%20eat%20every%20day,%20even%20though%20you'll%20want%20to%20-%20this%20is%20a%20once%20a%20year%20(or%20twice)%20kind%20of%20treat%20-%20something%20you'll%20make%20when%20you%20celebrate%20booking%20the%20last%20of%20your%20hotel%20rooms%20in%20ROME!%20%20(Some%20people%20wait%20until%20the%20last%20minute%20-%20I'm%20certainly%20NOT%20one%20of%20THOSE%20people...I%20only%20wait%20until%20the%20last%20WEEK%20because%20by%20then%20all%20of%20the%20moderately%20priced%20hotels%20rooms%20are%20book%20and%20I'm%20FORCED%20to%20stay%20in%20a%20nicer%20hotel!)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThese%20could%20not%20be%20easier...potatoes%20are%20sliced,%20sprinkled%20with%20shredded%20Parmesan,%20then%20doused%20with%20cream...when%20they%20come%20out%20of%20the%20oven%20they%20are%20incredibly%20rich%20and%20decadent%20-%20creamy%20and%20cheesy%20-%20they%20will%20melt%20in%20your%20mouth!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20cream%20thickens%20and%20mixes%20with%20the%20Parmesan%20into%20one%20glorious%20sauce%20-%20which,%20if%20it%20helps,%20you%20can%20think%20of%20as%20gravy%20-%20you'll%20be%20hooked%20once%20you%20try%20potatoes%20this%20way%20-%20they%20are%20heart-stopping%20good!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPotatoes%20in%20Cream%20-%20Pots%20and%20Pins%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3%20to%204%20yellow%20potatoes,%20scrubbed%20clean%20(I%20prefer%20these%20over%20russet%20potatoes%20because%20their%20skin%20is%20thinner%20and%20they%20tend%20to%20soak%20up%20a%20bit%20more%20of%20the%20cream)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20325%20degrees.%20%20Slice%20potatoes,%20almost%20all%20the%20way%20through,%20into%201/4-inch%20slices.%20%20Put%20potatoes%20into%20a%20glass%20pie%20pan%20or%20baking%20dish.%20%20Sprinkle%20with%20salt%20and%20pepper%20-%20spreading%20open%20the%20slices%20as%20you%20go.%20%20Sprinkle%20with%20Parmesan%20cheese.%20%20Pour%20cream%20over%20all.%20%20Cover%20baking%20dish%20with%20foil%20and%20bake%20for%20one%20hour.%20%20Remove%20foil%20and%20place%20baking%20dish%20under%20broiler%20for%20about%202%20minutes,%20just%20until%20potato%20tops%20are%20nice%20and%20crispy.%20%20To%20serve,%20spoon%20some%20of%20the%20cream%20over%20tops%20of%20potatoes%20ala%20gravy.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%E2%80%9CI%20come%20from%20a%20family%20where%20gravy%20is%20considered%20a%20beverage.%E2%80%9D%20~%20Erma%20Bombeck%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
