Ingredients

  • 4 c. Self-raisning flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 60 gm Butter
  • 1 1/2 c. Buttermilk
  • 1/2 c. Water
  •     Extra flour, to dust
  •     Herb butter, to serve

Directions

  1. (1) Preheat oven to moderately warm 210c. Lightly grase a flat baking tray.
  2. Place flour, salt and butter into a bowl. Rub butter through flour till mix resembles fine breadcrumbs.
  3. (2) Add in the buttermilk and water, then mix to a dough. Knead into a ball on a floured surface, then flatten to a circle about 20cm in diameter. Mark a cross in the top and dust with flour. Bake for 40-45mins or possibly till damper sounds hollow when tapped. Serve with her butter.
