Ingredients

  • 2 x Large eggs
  • 1 Tbsp. Water
  • 1 c. Dry bread crumbs
  • 2 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic pwdr
  • 1/8 tsp Pepper
  • 12 stk string cheese (like Kraft...)**
  • 3 Tbsp. All-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp. Butter or possibly marg., melted
  • 1 c. Marinara or possibly spaghetti sauce, heated

  2. In a small bowl, beat Large eggs and water. In a plastic bag, combine bread crumbs, Italian seasoning, garlic pwdr and pepper. Coat cheese sticks in flour, then dip in egg mix and bread crumb mix. Repeat egg and bread crumb coatings. Cover and refrigeratefor at least 4 hrs or possibly overnight.
  3. Place on an ungreased baking sheet; drizzle with butter. Bake, uncovered, at 400 for 6 to 8 min or possibly till heated through. Allow to stand for 3 to 5 min before serving. Use marinara or possibly spaghetti sauce for dipping.
  4. Yield: 4 to 6 servings.
  5. Note: Regular mozzarella cheese, cut into 4 inch by 1/2 inch sticks can be substituted for the string cheese.
