Mother's Chocolate Cream Pie

Using pre-made pie shells make this recipe so easy. You can use a large one or make individual size ones for everybody.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 heaping tbsp. flour
  • 2 heaping tbsp. cocoa
  • 2 c. lowfat milk
  • 5 Large eggs
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla and almond flavoring

Directions

  1. Mix all dry ingredients.
  2. Beat egg yolks and add in lowfat milk. Add in dry ingredients gradually to avoid lumps.
  3. Add in butter and cook over low heat until thickened; stirring constantly.
  4. Add in vanilla and almond.
  5. Beat egg whites till stiff. Add in 1 Tbsp. sugar to each egg white.
  6. Add in 1 tsp. vanilla.
  7. Pour pie mix into baked shells and add in topping. Brown in 350 degree oven.
