%20and%20the%20another%20one%20team%20is%20Northern%20team%20(food%20bloggers%20born%20and%20brought%20in%20North%20India).%20Every%20first%20of%20a%20month,%20a%20blogger%20from%20each%20team%20will%20challenge%20a%20recipe%20from%20their%20origin%20and%20the%20opposite%20team%20have%20to%20cook%20the%20recipe%20challenged%20by%20the%20other%20team.%20If%20you%20are%20like%20me,a%20South%20Indian%20by%20birth%20obviously%20you%20wont%20have%20any%20idea%20of%20many%20traditional%20dishes%20from%20North%20India,%20obviously%20this%20event%20will%20definitely%20motivate%20you%20to%20cook%20and%20taste%20those%20unknown%20famous%20North%20Indian%20foods.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EToday%20morning,%20the%20first%20thing%20i%20did%20is%20to%20check%20my%20mail%20to%20know%20wat%20was%20our%20this%20month's%20SNC%20challenge,%20thank%20god%20Sonali%20challenged%20us%20with%20my%20favourite%20deep%20fried%20fritters%20called%20'Greenpeas%20Kachori%20with%20Dum%20Aloo',%20i%20have%20already%20tasted%20kachori%20with%20green%20peas%20and%20dum%20aloo%20apart%20but%20never%20together,%20definitely%20this%20kachori%20with%20dum%20aloo%20is%20a%20wonderful%20chance%20for%20us%20to%20taste%20this%20fabulous%20Bengali%20delicacy%20challenged%20by%20the%20wonderful%20Sanoli%20while%20Southern%20team%20challenged%20the%20northern%20team%20with%20Paal%20Kozhukattai,%20a%20recipe%20challenged%20by%20Tamilarasi,%20every%20South%20Indians%20would%20have%20definitely%20tasted%20this%20lil%20rice%20dumplings%20in%20sweet%20coconut%20milk%20atleast%20once%20in%20a%20while,%20its%20quite%20a%20traditional%20sweet%20we%20do%20quite%20often%20during%20Ganesh%20Chathurthi%20or%20else%20sometime%20for%20our%20evening%20snacks.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThanks%20to%20both%20Sanoli%20and%20Tamilarasi%20for%20being%20this%20month's%20hosts%20and%20am%20sure%20both%20teams%20will%20have%20definitely%20a%20wonderful%20time%20in%20cooking%20these%20both%20challenges.%20Since%20i%20have%20all%20the%20ingredients%20for%20the%20greenpeas%20kachori%20and%20dum%20aloo,%20just%20finished%20making%20them%20and%20enjoying%20while%20writing%20this%20post.%20I%20just%20skipped%20my%20lunch%20as%20i%20could%20resist%20tasting%20this%20yummy%20food,enjoying%20this%20beautiful%20kachoris%20with%20flavourful%20and%20fingerlicking%20dum%20aloo.%20Sanoli,%20am%20loving%20this%20combo%20dear,%20if%20you%20would%20havent%20challenged%20us%20with%20this%20recipe,i%20would%20have%20never%20thought%20of%20combining%20this%20both%20together.%20Thanks%20a%20ton.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20Green%20Peas%20Filling:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3cups%20Green%20Peas%20(frozen)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4nos%20Green%20Chillies%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1/4tsp%20Asafoetida%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1tsp%20Ginger%20paste%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1tsp%20Sugar%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1tspCumin%20powder%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1tbsp%20Clarified%20Butter/ghee%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESalt%20to%20taste%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20Kachoris:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3cups%20All%20Purpose%20Flour%20/maida%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1/2%20tsp%20Salt%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4%20tbsps%20Oil%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOil%20for%20Deepfrying%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGrind%20the%20green%20peas%20with%20green%20chillies%20with%20few%20drops%20of%20water%20as%20coarse%20paste.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHeat%20the%20ghee,%20add%20the%20asafoetida%20powder,fry%20and%20add%20the%20grounded%20green%20peas%20paste%20in%20it,%20add%20now%20the%20ginger%20paste%20and%20mix%20everything%20nicely.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20add%20the%20cumin%20powder,%20salt%20and%20sugar%20to%20the%20paste%20and%20stir%20continously%20until%20the%20excess%20water%20evaporates.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnce%20the%20mixture%20is%20almost%20dry,put%20off%20the%20stove%20and%20keep%20aside%20to%20cool%20completely.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETake%20the%20maida,salt%20and%20oil%20in%20a%20bowl,%20knead%20to%20a%20smooth%20and%20stiff%20dough%20with%20enough%20water%20and%20keep%20for%20half%20an%20hour%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDivide%20the%20dough%20and%20the%20already%20prepared%20green%20peas%20paste%20as%20equal%20balls.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERoll%20a%20dough%20ball%20as%20a%20small%20disc,%20place%20a%20green%20peas%20ball%20and%20seal%20the%20edges%20tightly,%20roll%20it%20gently%20as%20a%20circle%20with%20a%20rolling%20pin,%20be%20careful%20not%20to%20press%20much%20so%20that%20the%20filling%20will%20come%20out.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMeanwhile%20heat%20the%20oil%20for%20deep%20frying,%20once%20the%20oil%20is%20hot,%20drop%20gently%20the%20already%20rolled%20kachoris%20and%20fry%20until%20the%20oil%20stops%20bubbling.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDrain%20the%20excess%20of%20oil%20with%20a%20paper%20towel%20and%20repeat%20the%20same%20process%20until%20the%20dough%20and%20filling%20gets%20finished.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20Dum%20Aloo:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWash%20and%20pressure%20cook%20the%20baby%20potatoes,%20once%20they%20get%20cool,peel%20the%20potatoes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHeat%20oil%20in%20a%20pan,fry%20the%20baby%20potatoes%20until%20they%20turns%20brown,%20remove%20from%20the%20oil%20and%20keep%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETo%20the%20same%20pan,%20fry%20the%20bay%20leaf,asafoetida%20powder,cumin%20seeds,fennel%20seeds%20until%20they%20turns%20brown;%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20in%20the%20green%20peas%20and%20fry%20for%20few%20minutes,%20add%20now%20the%20chopped%20tomatoes,green%20chillies%20and%20fry%20for%20few%20more%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFinally%20add%20the%20turmeric%20powder,coriander%20powder,%20ginger%20paste,chilly%20powder%20and%20salt,%20cook%20until%20the%20oil%20separates%20from%20the%20spices.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20add%20the%20sugar,already%20fried%20potatoes%20and%20cook%20for%203minutes,%20add%20the%20thick%20yogurt%20to%20the%20potatoes,cook%20everything%20for%205minutes%20and%20put%20of%20the%20stove,finally%20add%20the%20coriander%20leaves.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServe%20hot%20the%20green%20peas%20kachori%20along%20with%20spicy%20fingerlicking%20dum%20aloo..%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
