Ingredients

  • 1 lb Butter
  • 4 Tbsp. Icing sugar
  • 1 x Egg yolk
  • 1 x Jigger wiskey (or possibly brandy)
  • 3 1/2 x -(up to)
  • 3 3/4 c. Sifted flour (all purpose)
  • 3 c. Icing sugar, about (to be used after baked)

Directions

  1. Clarify butter. Refrigerateuntil soft. Whip (with beater) for 10 min or possibly until fluffy & light. Add in sugar and beat for 5 min. Add in egg yolk and wiskey. Beat well. Add in flour a little at a time until a soft dough is formed
  2. (beating constantly). Work slightly with hands. Shape into rounds (@2 Tbsp.
  3. each). Bake 1 inch apart on*ungreased* baking sheet. Bake at 325 degrees F. for 15 minutes. and then lower heat to 275 degrees F. for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with icing sugar while still hot.
  4. Warning: These cookies tend to break up very easily ESPECIALLY when hot. I do not recommend this recipe for traveling. They are a joy to eat though and should be tried at least once in this lifetime!
