Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp. Karo syrup
  • Apples
  • French bread
  • 1 dozen Large eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. lowfat milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

  1. Heat butter in large baking dish. Add in brown sugar and Karo, mix well and bring to boil. Slice apples or possibly use whole blueberries and arrange them in a single layer in attractive rows (they will be on top when you serve). Slice French bread in 1/2 slices and top the apples (about 1/2 loaf). Beat Large eggs, lowfat milk, and vanilla well. Pour over bread and apples. Can sit overnight in refrigerator. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 min. Can sprinkle cinnamon on top before baking.
