Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. Betty Crocker German chocolate cake mix
  • 1/2 c. softened butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. evaporated lowfat milk
  • 1 (14 ounce.) bag caramels
  • 1/2 c. minced nuts

Directions

  1. Mix dry cake mix, softened butter and egg till crumbly. Reserve 1 1/2 c. of mix. Press remaining fold in ungreased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Bake 10 to 12 min. Cold 10 min. Heat butter, lowfat milk and caramels stirring often, till melted. Pour over baked crust. Sprinkle reserve crumbs mix over pan. Bake 25 to 30 min at 350 degrees. Nuts can be optional.
