Chicken Tandoori (Indian Grilled Chicken)

Ingredients

  • 16 ounce plain yogurt
  • 1/4 c. lime juice
  • 2 clv garlic, finely minced (or possibly pressed)
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp coriander
  • 1 tsp grnd cumin
  • 1 1/2 tsp grnd ginger
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 3 whl chicken breasts, split
  • 1 lrg onion, finely minced
  • 1 lrg green pepper, finely minced

Directions

  1. In large bowl, combine: yogurt, coriander, lime juice, cumin, garlic, ginger, salt, cayenne pepper and turmeric
  2. Stir to mix. Add in chicken pcs and toss to coat. Cover mix and chicken with peppers and onions. Cover. Refrigerateovernight (or possibly longer).
  3. Prepare warm coals or possibly preheat oven broiler for 10 min. Turn and cook till done, approximately 15 to 20 min. Baste with marinade throughout cooking.
  4. Note:Try serving this with rice; stir in the veggies (broil them or possibly barbeque them right along with the chicken).
