Chicken Coq Au Vin (Crockpot)

Ingredients

  • 2 x frying chickens cut up
  • 12 sm whole onions (12 to 16)
  • 1/2 lb mushrooms sliced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp thyme
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 c. chicken stock
  • 1 c. dry white or possibly red wine
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 3 Tbsp. butter

Directions

  1. Place onions in bottom of cooker, then add in all remaining ingredients except flour and butter.
  2. Cook on low heat 8-10 hrs or possibly high heat 3-4 hrs.
  3. To thicken sauce, remove 1/4 c. liquid from cooker. Heat butter in saucepan, stir in flour and liquid. When blended, return to cooker.
  4. NOTES : This is a great Chicken Crockpot recipe.
