Ingredients

  • 1 beaten egg
  • 3 T lowfat milk
  • 1/3 c. fine dry bread crumbs
  • Dash pepper
  • 1 1/2 lbs. grnd fully cooked ham
  • 2 T shortening
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
  • 2 T water
  • 1 T lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon grnd cinnamon
  • Dash grnd cloves

Directions

  1. In a bowl put together egg, lowfat milk, bread crumbs, and pepper. Add in ham; mix well. Shape mix into meatballs. In a frying pan brown meatballs in hot shortening, shaking pan often to keep balls round. Drain off fat. Add in the 1/4 cup water. Simmer, covered 15 to 20 min, turning occasionally. Meanwhile, heat pie filling with the 2 tbsp water, lemon juice, cinnamon and cloves. Pour some over meatballs. Pass the rest.
