Ingredients

  • 1 pkt Caramels
  • 1 x German/Swiss chocolate cake mix
  • 1 1/2 stk butter, melted
  • 1 c. Chocolate chips
  • 2/3 c. Evap lowfat milk, (Pet, Carnation) (1 small can)
  • 1 c. Minced walnuts

Directions

  1. Preheat over 350F; grease and sugar 9x13 pan
  2. Heat caramels with 1/3 c. evap lowfat milk in double boiler. Combine cake mix, melted butter, 1/3 c. evaporated lowfat milk, walnuts. Pat approximately 1/2 of mix in pan. Bake for 7 min. Sprinkle chocolate chips and caramels over partically cooked dough. Crumble rest of dough over the mix. Bake for 15 min
  3. Remove from oven; chill when cold (this is essential if you want to cut them without gooey caramel !) Easiest way to cut is to remove from pan in one or possibly two pcs and cut with large knife
