.%20Since%20I%20happen%20to%20have%20Natvia%20for%20Icing,%20I%20naturally%20wanted%20to%20try%20what%20kind%20of%20frosting%20it%20makes.%20It%E2%80%99s%20a%20pity%20that%20they%20don%E2%80%99t%20sell%20that%20particular%20sweetener%20in%20the%20US%20(correct%20me%20if%20I%E2%80%99m%20wrong),%20but%20on%20the%20other%20hand%20there%20are%20very%20similar%20powdered%20erythritol-based%20sweeteners%20on%20the%20market.%20The%20benefit%20of%20Natvia%20is%20that%20it%20doesn%E2%80%99t%20have%20that%20weird%20cardboard-like%20taste%20of%20oligosaccharides,%20like%20some%20other%20sweeteners%20have.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%E2%80%99ve%20made%20many%20different%20buttery%20frostings%20before.%20Butter%20just%20makes%20so%20great%20creamy%20and%20firm%20frosting%20which%20you%20can%20pipe%20on%20your%20cupcakes%20or%20cakes%20as%20beautiful%20decorations.%20When%20I%20thought%20of%20testing%20Natvia%20for%20Icing,%20I%20was%20immediately%20thinking%20of%20buttery%20frosting.%20Something%20very%20simple%20to%20see%20if%20the%20sweetener%20leaves%20any%20aftertaste.%20Butter-based%20frosting%20was%20perfect%20for%20the%20test%20because%20butter%20is%20so%20neutral%20and%20almost%20tasteless%20unlike%20for%20example%20cream%20cheese.%20You%20really%20feel%20even%20the%20tiniest%20additional%20or%20peculiar%20taste%20that%20the%20sweetener%20might%20give.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFirst%20I%20made%20basic%20frosting%20using%20butter,%20Natvia%20for%20Icing,%20vanilla%20extract%20and%20heavy%20cream.%20Well,%20I%20could%20have%20omitted%20the%20vanilla,%20but%20it%20somehow%20belongs%20to%20even%20the%20simplest%20frosting.%20First%20I%20used%204%20oz%20(115%20g)%20unsalted%20butter,%201%20cup%20(240%20ml)%20Natvia%20for%20Icing,%201%20teaspoon%20vanilla%20extract%20and%201/4%20cup%20(60%20ml)%20heavy%20cream.%20The%20result%20was%20really%20sweet,%20far%20too%20sugary%20to%20my%20taste.%20Also%20my%20family%20thought%20it%20was%20overkill.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20the%20next%20experiment%20I%20used%20just%203/4%20cup%20(180%20ml)%20Natvia%20for%20Icing%20and%20reduced%20the%20amount%20of%20cream%20by%20half,%20since%20I%20thought%201/4%20cup%20(60%20ml)%20cream%20wouldn%E2%80%99t%20bring%20any%20more%20benefits%20than%20just%20two%20tablespoons%20cream.%20I%20also%20added%202%20drops%20100%25%20orange%20essential%20oil%20to%20make%20orange%20butter%20frosting,%20and%20the%20result%20was%20just%20perfect!%20Yummy,%20creamy,%20firm,%20easy%20to%20pipe.%20I%20filled%20my%20lemony%20whoopie%20pies%20with%20the%20frosting.%20Oh,%20so%20heavenly!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMake%20a%20Comment%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
