Ingredients

  • 80 gm Flour (3/4 c.)
  • 1 lt Lowfat milk (approx. 1 quart)
  • 120 gm Sugar (1/2 c. plus 1/2 Tbsp)
  • 8 x Egg yolks, whisked to a froth
  • 8 x Egg whites, beaten to stiff peaks Grated peel of 3 lemons
  • 1 pch Salt
  • 50 gm Butter (3 1/2 Tbsp)

Directions

  1. Combine the flour and a little lowfat milk, and stir till smooth. Gradually add in the remainder of the lowfat milk, the sugar and salt. Bring to a boil. Remove the pot from the heat, add in the grated lemon peel. Carefully mix in the egg yolk froth and beaten egg whites. Pour the mix into a buttered casserole dish and bake at medium heat for 20 min.
