This is my favorite technique for creating one-pot meals. Millions of variations possible.

1 lb ground beef, turkey, or chicken
1 16-oz pkg elbow, bow-tie, twists, or shells pasta
1 pkg brown gravy mix or 1 pkg onion soup mix
1 large bell pepper
1 large tomato
1 large onion
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
salt & pepper to taste

Cook pasta according to package directions. While it is cooking, chop vegetables. Brown meat in skillet. Add chopped vegetables during last few minutes of cooking. Drain any grease from meat mixture. Prepare package gravy or soup mix according to directions (this can be done in a separate bowl, or in the pan with the meat and veggies). Drain pasta. Add cooked, drained past to meat & gravy mix. Simmer on low heat approximately 5 minutes, covered, to allow flavors to mix. Top with shredded cheese before serving.

There are millions of variations to this. Try different types of cheese. Use Velveta cheese (tm) or a 8oz can of cheese soup instead of gravy mix. Use salsa or picante sauce during cooking or as a topping. Add your family's favorite canned veggies or beans. The only limit is your imagination.
